MSM students chosen for summer programs

Six Mount St. Mary Academy juniors, three sophomores and two freshmen in Little Rock were selected to participate in three of Arkansas’ most well-known summer programs for high school students.

Six rising seniors will be attending this year’s Arkansas Governor’s School program from July 5 to Aug. 1 on the Arkansas Tech University campus in Russellville. They are Caroline Cash, Ella Crowder, Elizabeth Gipson, Ann Marie Nguyen, Madeline Reyes and Arianne Ricaurte.

Juniors Kennedy Jordan, Blakeley Potts and Sam Smith attended the 81st session of ALA Arkansas Girls State based on their leadership, character, honesty, scholarship and participation in service. This year’s session was held May 26-31 at Harding University in Searcy.

Sophomores Amelia Byers and Carson Vogelpohl participated in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia June 7-9. The two students were selected based on the outstanding leadership potential they have demonstrated in school and community activities.
