St. Joseph High School in Conway held its graduation May 13 at St. Joseph Church. The speakers were pastor Father John Marconi and the valedictorians and salutatorian. The school had six co-valedictorians. The salutatorian was Elise Williams, daughter of Greg and Doris Williams. She plans to attend the University of Mississippi.

Goal after college: My goal after college is to find a good job in the career of my choice. Also I hope to get married, start a family and hopefully send my kids to St. Joseph School.
What was the best aspect of attending your high school? The best aspect of attending St. Joseph was the close-knit community. We have such small classes, and we know every person in the entire high school building.
What will you miss most about high school? I will miss the ability to pray together and to discuss faith. I will also miss the fact that we are almost all Catholic. It’s going to be a huge adjustment to go to a school where most people aren’t Catholic.

Goal after college: My goal after college is to have a career as a family and consumer science teacher in Arkansas.
What was the best aspect of attending your high school? The best aspect of attending my high school was the Catholic education I received. I truly enjoyed learning the Catholic faith everyday and having the opportunity to pray in every class.
What will you miss most about high school? The part I will miss the most from St. Joseph is the family atmosphere we have. It is a true blessing to know that I can go to any student, faulty or staff member when I am in need of guidance.

Maria Nabholz, 18, of St. Joseph Church

Goal after college: I have not yet decided what I want to pursue in college, but hopefully the experience and knowledge I receive there will help me to realize what the best career path for me will be.
What was the best aspect of attending your high school? My senior class is very close to each other. I feel like knowing that I could turn to any one of my friends for help and support throughout high school really made it enjoyable.
What will you miss most about high school? Being able to see all of my friends all day was probably my favorite part of high school. The people, especially the teachers at St. Joseph, made high school easy and fun.
High school honors and awards: Honor Society, highest honors in computer science, religion and journalism, academic excellence in physics, AAA Active Scholar Award.
Jennifer Hegeman, 18, of St. Joseph Church

Goal after college: After college I plan to work in a local pediatric clinic as a physical therapist and eventually I would like to have my own clinic.
What was the best aspect of attending your high school? The best aspect of attending St. Joseph High School was the family-like atmosphere and how everyone was always willing to help each other.
What will you miss most about high school? What I will miss the most is being with my class every day and the closeness we share.
High school honors and awards: Optimist Club Teen of the Month, Honor Roll, All-State Tournament Soccer Team 2009, All-Conference Soccer 2009 and 2010, All-State Soccer 2011, All-State Golf 2010, Active Scholar Award

Goal after college: After college I want to be in Conway pursuing whatever medical occupation I choose.
What was the best aspect of attending your high school? The thing that I like most about St. Joseph is the family atmosphere. I have a personal relationship with all of my teachers and fellow students even in different grade levels. It is like one big family.
What will you miss most about high school? I will miss my classmates. This year has been very tough and we have been faced with many tragedies, the biggest being the passing of Mrs. (Stephanie) Shachmut. She was like a mother to us.
High school honors and awards: Governor Scholar, Boys State representative, Varsity Basketball Jim Banks Award, Golf State Championship and two-time All State, Conway Noon Optimist “Teen of the Month,” U.S. Army Scholar Athlete

Goal after college: My goal after college is to pursue a job in the medical field.
What was the best aspect of attending your high school? The best aspect of St. Joseph was the close family feeling I felt. Our school was basically a community.
What will you miss most about high school? I will miss my classmates the most.
High school honors and awards: Father Beagen Award, National Honor Society member, U.S. Army Scholar Athlete, highest honors in anatomy, chemistry and trig/pre-cal.
