Immaculate Conception member joins mission team
Daniela Hernandez, a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith, has been accepted as a FOCUS missionary serving at the University of Delaware for two years. “If God is calling for more years, then we can continue to serve him longer,” she said.
FOCUS works in evangelization with college students. Currently, there are 1,048 missionaries on 210 campuses, including the University of Arkansas, and nine international campuses.
“As a missionary, I will be meeting students and walking with them in friendship,” she said. “I will lead Bible studies and draw them deeper into relationship with Jesus and his Church.”
After earning her bachelor’s degree in biology from UA Fort Smith, Hernandez has been teaching preschool at Christ the King School in Fort Smith. At her parish, she taught confirmation and PRE classes and led a young women’s Bible Study group.
