The Diocese of Little Rock will host a Jubilee Celebration Saturday, June 28 at Christ the King Church in Little Rock. The bilingual event, “Hope in Arkansas,” will begin at 8 a.m. and end with Mass at 4 p.m. The event is free, but registration is required by June 21 to receive the complimentary lunch. Speakers will be Father Joseph Friend of Lake Village and Father Daniel Velasco of Little Rock. The event is open to anyone 12 and up. The Respect Life Office is taking applications for a limited number of grants to parish groups and community organizations in Arkansas that promote a consistent ethic of life. Catholic Charities Summer Institute, a program sponsored by the Youth Ministry Office and Catholic Charities of Arkansas, will be held July 14-18 at St. John Center in Little Rock. The week is open to youth in ninth to 12th grades interested in learning about the social justice teachings of the Church. During this five-day session, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to put the social justice lessons learned into action with hands-on experience. The fee is $250. Registrations are being accepted for Search #156, a retreat to help high school juniors and seniors get to know themselves better, deepen their friendship with Christ and find support in living out their faith.
