Deacon Ronald “Ron” Francis Stager, who served St. Anne Church in North Little Rock, died Nov. 5 following a tragic car accident. He was 73.
Stager was born Oct. 2, 1952, in Hemet, Calif., to the late James and Dorothy Stager. He served in parishes across North Little Rock, including St. Mary Church, St. Patrick Church, St. Anne Church and Immaculate Conception. He was also dedicated to his family and to upholding the importance of family and life, having fostered and adopted several children.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Stager; five sons, Chuck Stager, Peter Stager, William Stager, Nicholas Stager and Kenneth Stager; three daughters, Melissa Witcher, Anita Stager and Cecilia Stager; two brothers, Leo Stager and James Stager; one sister, Jacqueline Stager; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock Thursday, Nov. 20 from 4:-6 p.m., followed by a rosary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in North Little Rock.
