Curriculum change

Subiaco Academy has announced that it will be making an academic curriculum change, effective this fall. It will be a fusion of traditional humanities-inspired learning with 21st-century STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) programs. The school said it aims to form young men who are well-read, effective communicators, creative thinkers and problem-solvers.

Faith formation will remain the first priority. The school will use Latin and Greek language studies to increase vocabulary.

“We’re not just educating for college,” said headmaster Dr. David Wright. “We’re forming young men who are intellectually sharp, spiritually grounded and ready to serve and lead in today’s competitive — and ethically complex — world.”

The state-of-the-art Alumni Hall academic building will house experiential learning laboratories. This half of the curriculum is divided into two parts  —  A&E (Agricultural and Energy units) and STEPS (Scholars Thinking, Engaging, Problem Solving) that will focus on areas such as engineering, automation and geospatial technology.

With growing demand in fields such as animal science, poultry production, environmental sustainability and agribusiness, graduates will be well-prepared to pursue higher education or enter the workforce.

Subiaco Academy will be the first private school in Arkansas to offer a curriculum in partnership with Future Farmers of America, grounded in hands-on science, leadership and sustainability. Students will follow the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE), a nationally recognized, STEM-based framework while developing practical leadership skills through Subiaco’s FFA chapter.
