St. Joseph High School athletic director Luke Davis was recognized June 16 as the 2024-2025 recipient of the Raymond Bright Award for High School Coach of the Year in Conway. Davis is also the school’s head volleyball and baseball coach. The ceremony was held at Centennial Bank and was presented to Davis by Doretta Bright, widow of award’s namesake.

Davis graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2001 and earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from UCA in 2006. He began his coaching career at St. Joseph High School in 2007. In that time, the school has won seven conference championships in volleyball and 10 conference championships in baseball. The school was the 2013 2A state baseball champions. He was named the AAA All-Star Coach three times in both sports.

Davis said, “Coaches can’t win awards like that without the players.”
