Happy retirement

Christ the King School in Little Rock celebrated principal Kathy House as she prepares to retire at the end of the school year. House was honored by students with gifts during an all-school Mass April 25, with more than 17 priests, six deacons and two seminarians in attendance. Afterward, the new outdoor prayer garden was blessed in honor of House by Bishop Francis I. Malone of Shreveport, a former pastor who worked with House from 2001 to 2020. Teachers can bring their classes to the garden for reflection or class. The landscaped area includes benches for an entire class and Stations of the Cross. The day also included an all-school assembly and a dinner.

House was a teacher when the school opened in 1986 and was named principal in 1994.
