Christina DeSalvo Koch dies

Christina DeSalvo Koch a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Morrilton, died Feb. 26 in her home surrounded by her children at the age of 86.  She was born March 30, 1938, to Tony L. and Frances (Paladino) DeSalvo in Center Ridge.

Christina was an organist for more than seventy (70) years at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Center Ridge and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morrilton.

At Sacred Heart, she was actively involved in Liturgy Committee, Parish Council, Altar Society, and she also helped cook for the spaghetti dinners.

In the community she was involved with the Church Women’s United Group for many years.

She is survived by her children; Marietta (Paul) Lemons, Lawrence Koch, Johnny (Cathi) Koch, Greg Koch, Chris (Laura) Koch, Tim (Jennifer) Koch, Carol (Larry) Blackmon, Ray Koch and Kevin (Sarah) Koch, 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and her siblings; Patricia Hart, Margaret Hart, Angela Malik, Delores Hartman, Antonette Hall, Beatrice Miller, Thomas DeSalvo and Tony J. DeSalvo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Peter (J.P.) Koch, Jr.; her brothers, Augustine, Fr. Raphael, OSB, Michael, Henry, Abraham, and Br. Tobias DeSalvo, OSB; and her sisters; Emma Petty, Sr. Marie Rose DeSalvo, OSB; Clara Granger and Ginger Lamber.
