Mary Mother of God Church Cemetery in Harrison recently installed a 16-foot stainless steel crucifix with a bronze image of Jesus for a prayer and meditation area. Pastor Father Ben Riley conducted the blessing and dedication of the crucifix Oct. 31 following the All Saints Vigil Mass. The entire congregation processed to the cemetery led by the handbell choir under the direction of Julie Jasper. Following the dedication ceremony, each parishioner then placed a candle at each gravesite. It is one of the few Catholic cemeteries in the area.
