Former comptroller founded Christopher Homes

James “Jim” Thomas Davis, a founding member of Christ the King Church in Little Rock, died Oct. 31. He was 92. 

Born in North Little Rock to Thomas R. and Elizabeth Davis, Davis graduated from Catholic High School in Little Rock and went on to study at the American Institute of Banking. After working with Union Bank of Little Rock, Davis went on to work as the comptroller for the Diocese of Little Rock before serving as the founding executive director of Christopher Homes, a Catholic nonprofit that provides housing for the elderly. Davis participated in the Serra Club, the Catholic High Alumni Association Board and the Good Shepherd Ecumenical Retirement Center. He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. 

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Davis; two sons, Stephen J. Davis and Gregory T. Davis; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
