My youngest daughter attended St, Joseph High School in Pine Bluff. I just wanted everyone to know that one of the students who graduated from the Pine Bluff area (now closed) is still accomplishing great things today. It was divine intervention that led her to intern at Boy's Town. We are so proud of her. Her experiences at St. Joseph School helped to shape her into the woman she is today.
Ariel A. McField
Dr. Ariel McField is a native of Pine Bluff and a graduate of St. Joseph High School (Pine Bluff). She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas with a minor in Addiction Studies (2013). After working with children who were survivors of abuse, she enrolled in the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and achieved a master’s degree in Social Work (2016). During her training, Dr. McField’s ability to connect with people and desire to work in mental health continued to grow. In the process of advancing her education, Dr.McField was selected for a highly sought-after internship at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS). After graduating with her first master’s degree, she desired more training. After researching her interest, she discovered, was accepted and enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Clinical Adolescent Psychology at Prairie View University in Texas. In the process of achieving her doctorate degree, Dr. McField also obtained a second master’s degree in Psychology and interned at the world-renowned Boy’s Town in Omaha, NE (2020). This experience rounded out her doctoral training and allowed her to achieve a tenure-track position with the University of Texas Permian Basin. While at the University of Texas Permian Basin (2021), Dr. McField has done wonders to impact student life at the University. She has developed a graduate student organization and helped countless students. Beginning in the Fall of 2023, Dr. McField will be starting a tenure track position at Texas State University, which is an R2 school.
