Mary Louise Pieroni McIntosh, 92, of Lake Village died Sept. 22 surrounded by family.
Mary was born in 1930 to her parents, August and GigiaSampolesi Pieroni. The oldest of seven children, she grew up in Lake Village before moving to Memphis as a young woman, where she met and married her husband of fifty years, Harold F. McIntosh, Jr., and raised two children of her own.
A homemaker most of her life, Mary was an avid gardener and enjoyed volunteering in her spare time. She dedicated much of her time in service to St. Louis Catholic Church, where she was a parishioner from the church’s founding until she and Harold returned home to Lake Village in 1985. Mary’s unwavering dedication to her faith continued as a parishioner at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where she was a member of the altar society, a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered her time visiting the sick and participated in other charitable work.
A true matriarch, Mary was fiercely devoted to her family and was an impeccable example of faith, humility, love, and grace. She is missed beyond measure, but all who knew and continue to love her are comforted by treasured memories that will be forever held in our hearts.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Ned Pieroni and August Pieroni Jr., and her sister, Virginia Wall.
She is survived by her children, Ramona M. Hall of Memphis and Mac (Lynn) McIntosh of Lake Village; brothers, Vincent (Sue) Pieroni, Raymond (Louise) Pieroni, and Larry (Doreen) Pieroni, all of Lake Village; fivegrandchildren, Holly Hall of Denver, CO, Michael (Mary) Hall of Memphis, Philip (Anna) Neal of Norwalk, CT, Maria (Ben) Mize of Leland, MS, and Isabella McIntosh (fiancé Louis Delahoussaye) of Cleveland, MS; two great-grandchildren, Michael and MaxwellHall of Memphis; her dear friend of many years, Cullen Livingston of Lake Village; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends.
A visitation was Monday, Sept. 26 atBishop-King Funeral Home, with rosary following. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Tuesday, Sept. 27 with burial following at St. Isadore Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial donations be made in Mary’s name to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 314 S. Lake Shore Drive, Lake Village, AR, 71653.
