Boeckmann, member of first class of deacons, dies at 79

Paul Anthony Boeckmann, who ministered as a deacon for several years at St. Patrick Church in North Little Rock, died Aug. 3. He was 79. 

Boeckmann served in the U.S. Navy and was a small business owner in North Little Rock. He was part of the first diaconate class for the Diocese of Little Rock in 1981. He was known as “Mr. B,” leading St. Patrick’s Catholic Youth Organization. In his later years, he was a member of St. Joseph Church in Center Ridge where he sang in the choir. 

He is survived by his wife, Jill Boeckmann of Bee Branch; four daughters, Lisa Meek of Sherwood, Kelly Brockey of Long Island, Christine Stadther of North Little Rock and Jennifer Peacock of Jacksonville; one stepson, Don Pearson; one stepdaughter, Kristin Pearson; two sisters, Ann Marie McAuley and Elizabeth Thomas; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

A rosary, visitation and Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 7 at St. Joseph Church in Center Ridge. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
