We should be discouraged by the election of Joe Biden as president because of his disregard of Catholic doctrine and the acceptance of this fact by so many laity and clergy. When one in such a position of power and influence publicly rejects basic teachings of his own Catholic faith we are in a crisis.
This will cause an even larger division within the Church between those of us who hold dear the fundamental truths and the "social" Catholics who make their own decision about these teachings who are given credence by this president. In our present-day society,especially in this country, if something is repeated often enough it becomes fact. If something isn't reported by the media it didn't happen. The American Conference of Bishops should condemn this heresy now and the rest of us should pray our hearts out. You do know that God can change this and if enough of us pray for it, He will.
