Hal Stephen Barre’, M.D., 80, of Pocahontas passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Randolph Home.
He was born July 7, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Joseph Frank and Madeleine Detrick Barre’. Dr. Barre’ was a family practice physician, a member of St. PaulCatholic Church where he served as a Fourth-Degree member of Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Pocahontas Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellow ServiceAward. He also received the 50-year Service Award from the Arkansas Medical Society.
He was always adamant that he fell in love with his wife Bootsie in the first grade. He loved travelling with his family, bass fishing, woodworking, flying, hanging out with friends, and everything about deer camp except deer hunting. His family’s happiness, his God, and caring for his patients were his lifelong dedications.
Dr. Barre’ was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and MadeleineBarre; in-laws, Sam and Rosa Leone; and a brother, Eugene Detrick Barre’.
He is survived by his wife, Bootsie Leone Barre’; daughter, Michelle Barre’ Horton of Conway; sons, Hal Stephen Barre’ Jr. and wife Zoraidaof Jonesboro, Christopher Alan Barre’ and wife Dawn of Jonesboro, and JosephDetrick Barre’ and wife Denise of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Laney Mann Kelley and husband Matt of Conway, Hunter Horton of Conway, Heather Southe of Jonesboro, Lauren Southe of Hawaii, Sam Alan Barre’ and wife Hannah of Jonesboro, Ben Barre’ of Jonesboro, Will Barre’ of Jonesboro, Brittany Barre’Roper and husband Jake of Conway, and Allie Barre’ of Fayetteville; greatgrandchildren, Carson Hal and Collins Grace Kelley of Conway; brothers, JosephRichard Barre’ and wife Anne of Kingston, TN and John David Barre’ and wife Anne of Memphis, TN; and a host of close loving family and friends.
Visitation was Monday, January 4, 2021 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a Rosary being said at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 5, 2021at 10 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Michael Wurtz officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers included: Doug Cox, Don Cox, Raymond Jackson, Larry DonRose, Ed Hotze, John Jackson, and John Johnson.
