Former Dumas editor installed into Women’s Hall of Fame

Charlotte Schexnayder, 96, a member of Holy Child Church in Dumas, died Dec. 11. She was a longtime editor and co-owner of the Dumas Clarion newspaper, a former state legislator and, along with husband Melvin, helped establish Holy Child Church. She was inducted into the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame Aug. 29, 2019. 

She is survived by two sons, John Schexnayder and Steve Schexnayder; one daughter, Sarah Steen; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
