Catholic school superintendent Theresa Hall announced March 19 that Catholic schools will follow the decision by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to close public schools through April 17.
"The governor just announced that the schools will be closed until April 17, and we will also adhere to those directives," she wrote in a note to principals.
For March 16-20 schools have been following Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI), which allows the students to work on assignments at home with teachers providing video instruction as they could. Hall said she is meeting with the Arkansas Nonpublic School Accrediting Association about using AMI for an additional three weeks. Spring break is March 23-27.
