Members of the clergy of all faiths are invited to attend a free educational event sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) on the importance of advance care planning.
The Lunch and Learn for Clergy is set for 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. April 9 at Allison Memorial Presbyterian Church, 922 Wright Ave., Little Rock. Although there is no cost to attend, pre-registration is requested at cancer.uams.edu/clergy-tickets.
Participants will view the film “Being Mortal,” which explores the growing field of palliative care and how examining a person’s priorities within a limited life expectancy can empower them to live their lives more fully. A question-and-answer session with members of the UAMS Palliative Care team will follow. Guests are invited to bring a lunch. Drinks and desserts are provided.
This event is offered in conjunction with National Healthcare DecisionsDay and funded by a grant from the Dorothy Snider Foundation.
