Bella Vista deacon moved to Kansas

Deacon Anthony “Tony” Reuter, 85, a former deacon for St. Bernard Church in Bella Vista, died June 19 in Kansas.

He was born March 13, 1933, in Earlville, Iowa, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and owned a farm and truck dealership in Carroll, Iowa, according to his funeral home obituary. Reuter retired to Olathe, Kan.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Reuter; three sons, Ray Reuter, Michael Reuter and John Reuter; two daughters, Mary DeFilippis and Therese White; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A visitation and rosary was held June 22. A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 23 at Holy Spirit Church in Overland Park, Kan.
