The warmer temperatures over the weekend helped a local scout to work on an important project, which will benefit a local non-profit and its clients for many years to come. Bryson Porter’s water bottle filler will provide hydration for Sack Lunch Program participants in Fort Smith during warmer months when temperatures can spike to dangerous levels here in the River Valley. The reusable bottles are a much cleaner alternative to plastic, thereby cutting down on waste.
As a result of his hard work, the Subiaco Academy student hopes to earn the distinction of becoming an Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank achievable in the scouting organization. A member of Boy Scout Troop 380 at Immaculate Conception Church, Porter is the son of Bud and Cathie Porter. Volunteers at Sack Lunch Program serve hundreds of free sack lunches each week to area residents at 317 N F Street in Fort Smith.
