Christ the King Bookstore in Little Rock will host a book signing for Kathy Neal’s first book titled, “The Better Part” Sunday, Oct.r 22 during bookstore hours from 9 a.m. to noon. The book contains a collection of columns and other writings published mostly in Arkansas Catholic newspaper.
Neal is a parishioner at Christ the King. As a member of the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada. she is an award-winning writer. She received first place awards for her column about her Aunt Mary in “Million Dollar Aunt,” and on news writing, and a personality profile about the ordination of the seventh bishop of Little Rock, Bishop Anthony Taylor.
Dr. Michael Kleine, retired rhetoric and writing professor at UALR, on reviewing Neal’s book said, “Kathy Neal’s 'The Better Part' is a marvelous book that innovates as a genre — powerfully synthesizing travel narrative, spiritual journey and memoir.
