Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Jones greets a well-wisher Aug. 30 on the campus of Catholic High School in Little Rock.
Jones, who owns the Dallas Cowboys, was present along with several family members to participate in the dedication of the Gene and Jerry Jones Academic and Athletic Annex.
The building was named in recognition of the Jones family’s contributions to the school’s recent capital campaign and steadfast support of other initiatives.
Jones was on hand for the event with his sons Jerry Jr. and Stephen Jones and his son-in-law Shy Anderson. Anderson and the two Jones brothers are all graduates of the school. Principal Steve Straessle served as master of ceremonies and Msgr. Lawrence Frederick, CHS rector, delivered the invocation.
The 30,000-square-foot building opened in January and provides additional classrooms to accommodate the growing student population and state-of-the-art training facilities for the athletic teams. The annex houses three classrooms, four offices, a multi-purpose room, varsity and junior varsity locker rooms, the Garrett Uekman weight room and an indoor practice facility featuring 30 yards of artificial turf.
