ISIS still killing Christians
WASHINGTON — Despite then-Secretary of State John Kerry’s declaration one year ago that Islamic State’s actions in Iraq and Syria amounted to genocide — and unanimous votes in the House and Senate asking Kerry to declare genocide against minority Christian, Yezidi and Shiite Muslim groups in the region — advocates at a first anniversary ceremony said they want more from the U.S. government than what’s been done to date.

Give education accounts a chance
A step toward helping parents with educational expenses was looking promising in the Arkansas Legislature. HB1222 was introduced to allow parents to set up education savings accounts to pay for educational expenses, such as tuition, books, uniforms, after-school care and tutoring. The beauty of the bill and why it should pass is it is not limited to assisting private school students. Any expenses parents of public school or homeschool children have would be eligible for the education savings account. (Editorial)
