St. Bartholomew feast day celebration in Little Rock

The celebration of the feast of St. Bartholomew is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 28 at St. Bartholomew Church at 1622 Marshall Street in Little Rock.The celebration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass officiated by Father Francis Damoah. Immediately after Mass, there will be a march around the church and immediate neighborhood with colorful banners and a drumline to let the community know that we are alive and well through the grace of God.

The theme of the march is "Walking for Christ in the Year of Mercy." There also will be activities indoors and outdoors that will include a program to recognize special guests and clergy, an essay and poetry contest about the Year of Mercy, praise dancing and singing, a DJ, a bounce house, games, raffles and other activities. Food and soft drinks will be served.
