The Diocese of Little Rock’s fifth-grade vocations day, May 12 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Little Rock, was resurrected from an event that was at one time held each year at Subiaco Abbey.

The day was a response to the Year of Consecrated Life, which ended in February. From 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. the students attended Mass with Bishop Anthony B. Taylor, heard presentations about different vocational calls, learned about youth ministry opportunities in their parishes and toured the House of Formation and the bishop’s quarters.

More than 260 students from St. Joseph, Conway; St. John, Hot Springs; Christ the King, Our Lady of the Holy Souls, St. Edward and St. Theresa, Little Rock; Sacred Heart, Morrilton; and Immaculate Conception, Immaculate Heart of Mary and North Little Rock Catholic Academy, North Little Rock, attended with their teachers, principals and chaperones.
