Connell a deacon for 23 years in Hot Springs

Deacon John “Jack” Connell, 85, a member of St. John Church in Hot Springs, died March 17. He was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., to Michael and Agnes Connell. He was ordained a deacon April 24, 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Millie “Love” Connell; four sons, Father John Connell of Springdale, Kevin Connell of Dahlonega, Ga., Dennis Connell of Aurora, Colo., and Michael Connell of Fayetteville; one daughter, Anne McCallum of Hot Springs; one brother, James Connell; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 11 at St. John Church in Hot Springs. Memorials can be made to St. Raphael Church Building Fund in Springdale.
