Anita and Paul Urban of Jacksonville (foreground) and other pilgrims traveling to see Pope Francis in Philadelphia next week listen to Bishop Anthony B. Taylor give a reflection Sept. 12 at St. John Center in Little Rock on what a pilgrim is and does. About two dozen travelers from around the diocese came for the short ceremony. He encouraged participants to make a confession before their pilgrimage and make sure to pray and sing “religious campfire songs” on the bus to stay in a prayerful state. He reminded the participants that they should not be “tourists” while in Philadelphia. “A pilgrimage is a journey with the Lord,” he said.
