Sister Mercia Bowie, OCD, also known as Sister Mercia Mary of the Eternal Father, will make her solemn profession at the Carmel of St. Teresa of Jesus in Little Rock Saturday, Oct 25. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will be the principal celebrant.
Sister Mercia transferred to the Carmelite Monastery from the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George in Alton Ill., Oct. 1, 2010. She is originally from St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Fairfield Bay.
The Mass will be at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the monastery. The public is invited to attend.
