Trinity Junior High Varsity Quiz Bowl Academic Team placed first in the 4A division of the Arkansas Governor's Quiz Bowl Association's State Tournament Feb. 23 in Arkadelphia.
The team consisting of seventh, eighth and ninth graders defeated the strong Subiaco Academy team for first place in the final round. The Trinity team will travel to Chicago in June for the Junior National Academic Championship. Jesus Calvillo also earned an individual award for the second most accumulated points of any student at the competition.
