Directory mailed to Arkansas Catholic subscribers

Most Arkansas Catholic readers are getting the 2014 edition of the Diocese of Little Rock Directory in their mailboxes this week. The 96-page magazine-style directory is being mailed as free special issue to readers who have a paid subscription to the newspaper.

"For the first time in many years, the Diocese of Little Rock Directory is being made available for free to all Arkansas Catholic's paid subscribers," Bishop Anthony B. Taylor wrote in his letter introducing the directory. "I encourage you to keep this directory in a convenient place and use it as a reference."

The directory lists detailed information on every diocesan office and organization, all parishes and Catholic schools, hospitals and ministries across the statewide diocese. Some of the information, such as addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses for priests, deacons and religious, is not available in any other publication or website.

The new directory's cover features a view through the front gate of St. Joseph Center. The photo won first place for Karla Lock of North Little Rock in Arkansas Catholic's annual directory photo contest. The historic campus in North Little Rock opened in 1910 as St. Joseph Home and has been used as an orphanage, daycare center and retreat center. Since 2010 the diocese has leased the facility to St. Joseph Center of Arkansas.
