Henry Bernard Rohlman, Jr., 84, of Morrilton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12. He was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Morrilton to Henry Bernard Rohlman and Agnes Gunderman Rohlman. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1946, after which he worked at Greer’s Department Store until he was deployed to Korea for one year. He returned home and married Elinor Nabholz in Conway in 1952. He went back to work for Greer’s and bought the store in 1964, from which he retired in 1994.
He was a member of, and had perfect attendance at Morrilton Lion’s Club and in 1965, he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He was past president of the Conway County Care Center and he remained on the board. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church where he was Eucharistic minister and past board member of the Sacred Heart Parish Council. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elinor Nabholz Rohlman, daughter, Mary Virginia (Ginny) and son-in-law, Jack Bell of Conway; grandson, Jeremy Bell and fiancé Kimberly Duvall and daughter Abby Duvall of Conway; granddaughters, Jessica Elliott (Rick) of Fayetteville and Lauren King (Tyler) of Little Rock and sister, Mary Henning (Charles) of Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant children, Teresa Ann, Henry Bernard III, and Robert Anthony.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at Sacred Heart Church with Father Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Rosary will be 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a visitation at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund.
