St. Ignatius Parish to celebrate centennial

St. Ignatius Church in Scranton will hold its Centennial Celebration May 5 beginning with the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will attend. After the Mass, a monument to St. Ignatius and the founding of the parish will be dedicated.  

Festivities will include a luncheon for parishioners and guests and a program of remembrances to be presented by the youth and other parishioners. The parish history book will be on sale. Children of the parish and local musical artists will provide  entertainment. Indoor and outdoor games will be available for the young and the old.  

All former parishioners and other guests are invited to attend and share their day with the parishioners of St. Ignatius. The event will close at 4 p.m.
