Charles F. LeSieur, 87, of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born May 28, 1925, in Charleston, Missouri, he was the son of the late Felix Napoleon and Marianna Young LeSieur. He was reared and received his early education in Paducah, Kentucky, later he attended and graduated from high school in Centralia, Illinois. In 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy and saw action in the Pacific in World War II. After an honorable discharge, he attended Southern Illinois University. Later, he attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.
In 1949, he married Billie Ann Duncan in Camden, Mississippi. Together they had two children and spent sixty-two years enjoying life with each other, until her death in 2011. Mr. LeSieur was best known in Pine Bluff as a radio announcer for station KCLA. After a career with the radio station, he was a Specialty Advertisement Salesmen for the Vernon Company. He sold pens, calendars, hats or whatever a client needed a logo on, until his retirement in 2009 at the age of eighty-four. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He had once been a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Optimist Club. He enjoyed writing poetry and composed several songs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billie LeSieur and his brother, Donald. He is survived by his children. Monsignor David LeSieur of Rogers, Arkansas, and Angelique Ford and her husband, Ronny, of White Hall; his grandchildren, Matt Ford, of Pine Bluff and Julianne Gasaway of Star City; and his sister, Scott Rullan, of Jackson, Mississippi.
A Vigil Service will be 6:30 PM, Monday, January 14, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a visitation to follow until 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor David LeSieur presiding, joined by Father L. Warren Harvey and Father Pius Lawe. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Friends may sign the online register.
