Students at St. John School in Russellville pet a horse owned by Justin (left) and Dr. Corry Key, a veterinarian (behind horse’s head), Oct. 4 following the pet blessing on the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
Students were invited to bring their pets before the school day started to the church grounds in order for pastor Father Chuma Ibebuike to bless them.
Pet blessings are common around the world on or near Oct. 4, the feast day of the saint who loved all animals.
