Bluebird houses

Dan and Shea Johnston, visiting from Adamsville, Ind., buy a bluebird house from Don Hunt (left) after the 9 a.m. Mass at St. Bernard Church in Bella Vista.

Hunt, a member of the Knights of Columbus, said 40 Western cedar bluebird houses were sold for $35. All proceeds from the fundraiser went to a scholarship program benefiting qualified, college-bound, high school parishioners. Hunt helped spearhead the project, which entailed 80 hours of wood-cutting and two hours of assembling for the Knights.

"This is the third time we have hosted this fundraiser," Hunt said, "but the first time in 10 years and we always sell out."
