Abbot Gregory Polan, OSB, of Conception Abbey in Missouri, who is a Scripture scholar, speaks to Catholics from across the country during the annual Bible Institute at St. John Center in Little Rock June 29. Abbot Polan spoke at the weekend event sponsored by Little Rock Scripture Study about the Psalms.
“Every word of the Psalms is a sacred word,” he said. “The Scriptures teach us how to pray.”
Abbot Polan said reading the Scriptures helps Christians encounter God. “To remember is to bring the past to the present to help us with the future,” he said.
