Guardian Angels nearing goal for year

Donors have given $14,047 through Dec.19 to bring the second annual Guardian Angels campaign to 94 percent of its $15,000 goal.
With Guardian Angels and other generous donations, eight more archive volumes of The Southern Guardian and The Guardian have been preserved in digital form during 2011. A total of 11 volumes of the last printed copies chronicling the history of Catholics in Arkansas has now been saved from further deterioration.
You can go online to browse, read and search these years now:

1911 – 1913
March 1920 – May 1922 (1921, In memory of Lil Buford)
1945 (In memory of Lil Buford)
Five volumes covering March 1914 through February 1919 are in process and will be available by the spring. Six additional years of fragile newspaper archives will receive “white glove” digital scanning from this year’s campaign.
