As is done today, the Diocese of Little Rock collected data on the state of the Catholic Church in Arkansas and reported it for the Official Catholic Directory. The following list was published on the parishes and missions that existed in 1911 when The Southern Guardian was founded. Many churches also took care of “stations,” which were places where worship took place but not on weekends on a regular basis. About 90 stations were recorded in 1911. One hundred years later many of the places that were “stations” are now the largest parishes in the diocese.
