Holy Ghost and diocesan priests process into Mass June 6 at St. Joseph Church in Conway.
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor celebrated the Mass with outgoing pastor Father George Spangenberg, CSSp, Father John Fogarty, CSSp, national Holy Ghost provincial and former associate pastor Father Brandon Nguyen, CSSp.
St. Joseph Church officially became a diocesan parish after being administered by the Holy Ghost Fathers for 130 years. Also attending were Father Sylvio D’Ostilio, CSSp, of Center Ridge, Father James Burnie, CSSp, of St. Vincent, Father Chike Anyigbo and Conway natives Fathers Charles Thessing of Morrilton and Warren Harvey of Pine Bluff. Following Mass, a reception was held in the parish hall dining room.
Father John Marconi, a diocesan priest, became the pastor officially June 9.
