Parents are always looking for quality summer activities for their children. In the Diocese of Little Rock several parishes and schools are offering recreational, educational and religious activities for children in pre-kindergarten through ninth grade.
Workshops and activities

Our Lady of the Holy Souls School in Little Rock is hosting math enrichment sessions for students entering third to eighth grades Aug. 2-5 for 90 minutes a day. The cost is $100 a class. The deadline to register is May 14. The school is also hosting summer enrichment for students entering kindergarten to sixth grades. Various themed weeks will be held in June and July for $85 a week. Immaculate Conception School in Fort Smith is hosting Camp Invention July 12-16 for students entering first to sixth grades. Activities will focus on science, technology, engineering and math. Christ the King School in Fort Smith will hold its third annual Art Camp June 7-11 and June 14-18. This camp is open to preschool through seventh-grade students. St. Peter School in Pine Bluff will have its day camp and academic program from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 7 to July 23. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be served. It is open to children who are 4 to 12 years old. The cost is $75 a week or $500 for the summer if paid by June 15. To attend the academic program only for 90 minutes a day Monday through Thursday, the cost is $45 a week or $200 for the summer if paid by June 15. Summer School
Subiaco Academy will offer a three-week intensive summer school program June 20-July 9 for boys in grades 9-12. The program gives young men who have failed a required class for graduation the opportunity to earn one full credit in one of the core subjects of English, math, science or history. While the boys will be busy with academics during the school day, afternoons and weekends will include on-campus activities such as swimming and basketball, and off-campus excursions to places such as Magic Springs Amusement Park, Silver Dollar City and the Clinton Presidential Library. Vacation Bible School
St. Edward Church in Texarkana and Sacred Heart Church in Texarkana, Texas, will host Evening Vacation Bible School for children and adults Sunday, July 13 to Thursday, July 17. VBS is open to students in pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Volunteer opportunities are available for children in sixth grade through 12th grades. All adults are invited to participate in the adult program or serve as catechists for VBS. The nursery will be available each evening. Dinner will be provided to all participants.
