“Staycation” is a word coined recently to describe the shift in many people’s travel plans. In order to save money and make it easier and simpler, travelers are choosing to stay closer to home for their vacations.
Visiting the Arkansas wine country is one of those options. According to www.arkansas.com, the state’s tourism Web site, there are many diverse options if you want to stay in Arkansas for your weekend or longer getaway.
Other ideas are:
Camping along Crowley’s Ridge. Stay at the Village Creek State Park in Wynne and make visits to Jonesboro or West Memphis for shopping.
Touring the art galleries and museums in Little Rock, including the Old Statehouse Museum, the Arkansas Art Center and Cox Creative Center.
Searching for diamonds at the Crater of Diamonds in Murfreesboro and staying at DeGray State Park in Bismarck.
Visiting the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View and enjoying the White River and National Buffalo River.
Touring Eureka Springs, including the Great Passion Play, Christ of the Ozarks, Thorncrown Chapel and the historic city.
