Body and blood

A monstrance containing the Eucharist is carried by Father Warren Harvey, pastor of St. Joseph Church in Pine Bluff, followed by Deacon Bud Bryant, as parishioners of St. Peter and St. Joseph churches became united through a procession on the feast of Corpus Christi Sunday, June 14.
Led by altar servers and parishioners carrying the American and Vatican flags, about 60 parishioners left St. Peter Church on State Street and walked up Main Street for nearly a mile, passing downtown businesses, which were largely closed on Sunday.
The monstrance containing the Eucharist was first carried by St. Peter pastor Father Donald Murrin, SVD, and later carried by Father Harvey.
The procession stopped briefly on Eighth Street to read the Gospel, pray and sing. Participants prayed at St. Joseph’s Annunciation Chapel, where adoration is held daily.
It was the fifth year the parishes have joined for this procession.
