Bishop Anthony B. Taylor addresses students, faculty, board members and others at Mount St. Mary Academy Aug. 20 before giving his blessing on a $7.7 million renovation and expansion project at the all-girls high school.
It is the third phase in a long-range improvement plan begun in 2000. Among the improvements to be made is a 6,400 square-foot expansion to house an enlarged library, media center, theatre arts and family/consumer science classrooms, development offices and meeting rooms. Major renovations to the school’s 1953 and 1977 buildings will include mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades.
