Small parish, big festival

An aerial view of the St. Joseph Church’s 110th annual Grape Festival in Tontitown Thursday, Aug. 7 shows only some of the activities offered. While patrons waited in line for the spaghetti and fried chickens dinners, others visited the midway of carnival rides, craft booths and book sale and listened to music. The five-day event also includes a crowning of Queen Concordia and Run for the Grapes 5K. The parish generally raises between $80,000 and $100,000 from the event. This year’s proceeds will help fund the new Parish Education Center, which will break ground this fall.
