Dr. Hal Bienvenu, an ear, nose and throat doctor from Lake Charles, La., operates at Dr. Salvador Paredes Hospital in downtown Trujillo June 23 on Lilian Moline, a 5-year-old girl with an abscess on her cheek. Assisting him are Scott Scruten, a nurse anesthetist, acting as a scrub technician, and Dr. Robert Dalby, an anesthesiologist. Among the first projects conducted by the mission in 1997 was installing windows and air conditioning units in the two operating rooms and installing a generator for the hospital. |
