Ronald McDonald fields suggestions from kindergarteners at North Little Rock Catholic Academy April 3 for a skit they would later participate in about bullying. Fourth-grade teacher Jennifer Bethell invited the McDonald’s character to the school to speak to kindergarten through fifth graders about friendship and how to treat friends properly. Bethell said these kinds of programs can counteract the negative stories in the media about bullying in Arkansas schools. Ronald McDonald told the students that “friendship heroes” stop bullies by telling teachers and parents when they see someone being mistreated. The hour-long program included music, games, skits and student participation. Ronald McDonald later visited classes of 3 and 4 year olds.
