Four contributors to Arkansas Catholic took home 12 awards during the annual awards luncheon for the Arkansas Press Women June 9 at the Historic Arkansas Museum in Little Rock.
Tara Little, associate editor, earned first place in the writer/photographer category for her coverage of the Cathedral of St. Andrew’s new stenciling. Little also earned second place certificates for special articles on religion and infrequent sections, third place for infrequent sections and honorable mentions for a nondaily newspaper feature story and infrequent sections.
Emily Roberts, production manager, earned first place in page design.
Editor Malea Hargett was recognized with second place certificates for special articles on education and a nondaily newspaper regularly edited by entrant, third place for special articles on social issues, and an honorable mention for nondaily newspaper editorial.
Marilyn Lanford, the Rogers correspondent, earned an honorable mention in the category of special articles on religion. Little and Roberts’ first place awards were forwarded to the National Federation of Press Women for consideration in its annual competition.
