Msgr. Msgr. John O’Donnell, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith and dean of the Western Deanery, will retire effective July 1.
Bishop J. Peter Sartain has announced the following clergy appointments, effective July 1 unless otherwise noted.
Rev. Msgr. John O’Donnell, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Fort Smith and dean of the Western Deanery is given permission to retire from active ministry.
Rev. Msgr. Richard Oswald is transferred from pastor, St. Vincent de Paul Church, Rogers and dean of the Northwest Deanery to pastor, Immaculate Conception Church, Fort Smith, and dean of the Western Deanery.
Rev. Msgr. David LeSieur is transferred from pastor, Our Lady of the Holy Souls Church, Little Rock and dean of the Central Deanery, to pastor, St. Vincent de Paul Church, Rogers and dean of the Northwest Deanery, and will remain Minister to Priests and chairman of Clergy Continuing Education.
Rev. Msgr. Royce R. Thomas is appointed pastor, Our Lady of the Holy Souls Church, Little Rock, and will remain judical vicar of the Diocese of Little Rock.
Rev. Msgr. Scott L. Marczuk is appointed dean of the Central Deanery and will remain rector of the Cathedral of St. Andrew, Little Rock.
Rev. Phillip A. Reaves is transferred from pastor, St. Edward Church, Texarkana, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Ashdown, Sacred Heart Church, Foreman, and dean of the Southwestern Deanery and appointed pastor, St. Mark Church, Monticello, St. Luke Church, Warren, Holy Child of Jesus Church, Dumas.
Rev. Vincent Flusche is transferred from pastor, Church of the Assumption, Atkins and St. Augustine, Dardanelle and appointed pastor, St. Edward Church, Texarkana, St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton, Ashdown, Sacred Heart Church in Foreman, and dean of the Southwestern Deanery.
Rev. Ernest Hardesty is appointed pastor, Church of the Assumption, Atkins, St. Leo University Parish, Russellville, and administrator of St. Augustine Church, Dardanelle and remains dean of the West Central Deanery.
Rev. Alan Rosenau is appointed administrator, St. Mary of the Springs Church, Hot Springs.
Rev. Thomas Marks is transferred from pastor, St. Paul the Apostle Church, Pocahontas and St. John the Baptist, Engelberg, and appointed associate pastor, Immaculate Conception Church, Fort Smith.
Rev. John Marconi is transferred from pastor, St. Mary Church, Paragould, and St. Joseph Church, Corning, and appointed pastor, St. Paul Church, Pocahontas, and St. John Church, Engelberg, while retaining responsibilities as pastor, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Walnut Ridge.
Rev. Matt Garrison is transferred from associate pastor, Blessed Sacrament Church, Jonesboro and its missions and appointed pastor, St. Mary Church, Paragould, St. Joseph Church, Corning.
Rev. Don Tranel, GHM, is appointed pastor, Our Lady of the Assumption, Booneville.
Rev. Maria Susai Barnabas, IMS, is appointed pastor, St. Peter and St. Paul, Morrison Bluff, St. Meinrad, Prairie View, and St. Ignatius, Scranton, effective late summer 2006.
Rev. Jason Tyler is appointed associate pastor, Christ the King Church, Little Rock effective July 31.
